We have AYOP (At Your Own Pace) classes available in some subjects. Currently we have Saxon math and Apologia science.
Most AYOP classes seat all year long and can take unlimited enrollment.
One note on the math and science classes. . . Wait to enroll in them until you are ready to start. We do fairly frequent upgrades to them to address tech issues and feature upgrades. That will help so you get the most updated form of the course page.
In order to be able to be offered as an AYOP class, it must meet several criteria:
- Must be able to get publisher permissions. Some publishers offer their own AYOP classes for pay, so only allow us to offer them as live classes.
- Must be able to be computer corrected homework. AYOP classes get high enrollment, so we can't get enough grading volunteers to support grading involved for classes such as essay classes. We struggle to get enough volunteers to offer our live courses.
- Must be in a format suitable for independent work. Many of our live classes are largely discussion based, so can't simply be offered as an AYOP class without completely restructuring the course content.
- Build Team must have the time to build the course in a format that can be used as an independent class. This takes extra steps over the live classes, since they often need additional videos and study notes.
